Everything feels like an incredible wake-up call right now. It's undefinable and it is coming at me from all directions. There is something new happening and I am asked to step into it completely. It requires letting go of all ideas, emotions and previous actions. It is an active being in the present, taking full responsibility. It is, in fact, a growing up.

There is a time when childhood should be passed and gone forever. Seek not to retain the toys of children. Put them all away, for you have need of them no more. The dream of judgment is a children's game, in which the child becomes the father, powerful, but with the little wisdom of a child. What hurts him is destroyed; what helps him, blessed. Except he judges this as does a child, who does not know what hurts and what will heal. And bad things seem to happen, and he is afraid of all the chaos in a world he thinks is governed by the laws he made. Yet is the real world unaffected by the world he thinks is real. Nor have its laws been changed because he does not understand.

The quiet of today will bless our hearts, and through them peace will come to everyone. Christ is our eyes today. And through His sight we offer healing to the world through Him, the holy Son whom God created whole; the holy Son whom God created One.

I do not understand anything I see in this room [on this street, from this window, in this place].

I don't understand it and I don't have to understand it. My only function is to be about my Father's business, and in that everything takes care of itself.

It's a true thing. It's not about happiness in the world, it's simply about being happy for no reason whatsoever. And that can only happen in God. It's not about being successful, it's about the realisation that everything I need is given me. And that is a real experience. I don't have to make it happen, I only have to stand in the impossibility of a situation, recognize it for what it is, and trust. There is a God. He offers His help every moment, and it is never what you think it is. Let's take another look at the Introduction to the Workbook. It's astonishing in it's simplicity.

Transfer of training in true perception does not proceed as does transfer of the training of the world. If true perception has been achieved in connection with any person, situation or event, total transfer to everyone and everything is certain. On the other hand, one exception held apart from true perception makes its accomplishments anywhere impossible.

The only general rules to be observed throughout, then, are: First, that the exercises be practiced with great specificity, as will be indicated. This will help you to generalize the ideas involved to every situation in which you find yourself, and to everyone and everything in it. Second, be sure that you do not decide for yourself that there are some people, situations or things to which the ideas are inapplicable. This will interfere with transfer of training. The very nature of true perception is that it has no limits. It is the opposite of the way you see now.

The overall aim of the exercises is to increase your ability to extend the ideas you will be practicing to include everything. This will require no effort on your part. The exercises themselves meet the conditions necessary for this kind of transfer.

It's a simple reminder that A Course In Miracles has nothing to do with any study that you have done in the world, this training is completely out of time. Simply by doing the lesson for the day, you take a step in saying: 'I want something different.' And the whole universe responds. Your mind starts changing simply by the daily application. It doesn't happen through study, it's not through your understanding and it's not by your manipulation. Every time you think you have solved your problem, it only means that you are stuck again in the illusion of your mind. Let God take care of things, it will be resolved in such a way that the 'problem' never returns.

You have been shown that there is a God, you have been offered the experience that you are not of this world and that this world in fact has no reality. You are standing in front of a treasure house filled with gifts from God, wondering if you should open the door. What are you waiting for? Not only can you open this door, but you can jump in with full speed. The experience of the awakening of your mind is waiting for you, and it is the only thing that will make you happy.

Some of the ideas the workbook presents you will find hard to believe, and others may seem to be quite startling. This does not matter. You are merely asked to apply the ideas as you are directed to do. You are not asked to judge them at all. You are asked only to use them. It is their use that will give them meaning to you, and will show you that they are true.

Remember only this; you need not believe the ideas, you need not accept them, and you need not even welcome them. Some of them you may actively resist. None of this will matter, or decrease their efficacy. But do not allow yourself to make exceptions in applying the ideas the workbook contains, and whatever your reactions to the ideas may be, use them. Nothing more than that is required.

Take the step, and go further. And still a little further. And still further... there's always more. At the same time everything is right here now. It's the paradox. Go figure. Today you are in the experience that you don't understand anything. Thank God. You don't have to understand it. Just let it go. There is a God, let Him take care of everything.
